The Library Manager: Adult Services has the responsibility for implementing library policies, recommending, designing, directing, supervising, and evaluating services in the Adult Department, including the library’ state-of-the art Technology Department. This position requires an understanding of emerging library and information and technologies, staying abreast of trends and the ability to provide superb customer service towards both staff and patrons. The Mandel Public Library operates in a very collaborative environment and the Adult Services Manager would have that opportunity to work all environments. The candidate must be able to set and lead strategic priorities and handle multiple complex and simultaneous tasks and projects by setting priorities to meet deadlines. Additionally, this position requires knowledge of collection development, basic computer applications, dealing with patron behavior issues and supervising the maintenance of library statistics.
Master's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Library Science (MLS) from an ALA accredited program and five (5) years of experience working as a Librarian, including two (2) years in a supervisory capacity, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
