This is a senior level administrative management position. Responsible for planning, directing and coordinating all Reference, Technology and Adult service activities within Library Division. Directs the divisions of Library Facility Management & Public Services, through subordinate staff and their assigned full time and part time staff. Ensures compliance with applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures, and compliance with our RISE Service Standards. Reports to the Library Manager.
Master’s degree in Library Information Science (MLIS) from an ALA accredited program.
Public Library Administration or State leadership certification program completion desired.
Four (4) years of supervisory experience with a staff of 12 or larger.
Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Active involvement in professional organizations (ALA, FLA, Multi-type cooperative, etc.).
Strong communication skills required, including fluency in English (oral and written). Bilingual preferred (Spanish-English; French/Creole-English).
Proficient in the use of technology in various areas of service and administration. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe products, knowledge Databases, Creative technology, ILS and supportive hardware and software.
Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s license with minimal citations (no more than six points).
