Position: Visiting Assistant Project Archivist (Temporary position)

Compensation: $ 12.50 / hour
Job Description:
The Wolfsonian-Florida International University, a museum and research center located in the heart of historical South Miami Beach, Florida is seeking an Assistant Project Archivist for the John & Drew Eberson Archive of architectural records.
 
This is a grant-funded, temporary position, (40) hours/week for a (34) week period.
 
The Assistant Project Archivist will assist the Project Archivist in the processing of architectural records, including photographs, large fragile drawings, and office files. 
 
 
 
 
Education / Qualifications:
BA in Art, Architecture, History, Museum Studies, or related disciplines.  MA or graduate student status preferred in Archival Studies or above fields; experience in art handling a plus. The Assistant Project Archivist will be trained in the proper handling of archival material and must be able to follow instructions and procedures with careful attention.
 
The Wolfsonian–FIU, a museum research center in Miami Beach, promotes modern material culture to enhance the understanding and appreciation of objects as agents and reflections of social, political and technological change. The institution focuses on its extraordinary collection of North American and European decorative, propaganda, and fine arts of the 1885-1945 period, donated to Florida International University in 1997 by Mitchell Wolfson, Jr.  The museum's exhibitions, publications and programs serve local, national and international audiences.
