The Information & Research Services Department (I&RS) at FIU’s Green Library seeks applications for the position of Head of I&RS. The Head of I&RS plays a leading role in consistently delivering transformational library services and coordinating the development of departmental goals and objectives to foster use of library resources, collections, and research services, working in concert with the Head of I&RS at the Hubert Library on FIU’s Biscayne Bay Campus.
Evidence of strong supervisory skills developed through increasing responsibilities in academic libraries over a period of 3 years or more
Experience providing reference, research, or liaison services in an academic or research library environment
Strong communication skills
Demonstrated interest, experience, and/or ability to promote cultural competency, diversity and/or inclusive excellence
Demonstrated record of professional service and scholarly publication
Experience with or supervising librarians or faculty working toward promotion, rank, and/or tenure in an academic environment
Master's Degree from an American Library Association accredited program in Library and Information Studies
Experience assessing the effectiveness of learning, programs, services and/or spaces
Demonstrated knowledge of current and emerging trends in research and instructional services.
Ability to work flexibly, creatively, and collaboratively in a changing and fast-paced environment with a culturally diverse population.
