The Mandel Public Library in downtown West Palm Beach, Florida is hiring! We have an exciting opportunity for a Library Acquisition Specialist to join our team! Are you detail-orientated and have a knowledge of current bookkeeping/accounting procedures and working with financial and statistical reports? Are you a self-starter, well-organized and comfortable with technology? Do you have experience in acquisition of library materials or equivalent and have excellent verbal and written communication skills? The Mandel Public Library is seeking an exceptional candidate to fill the position of acquisitions specialist.
Under limited supervision, purchases library materials with accurate and timely execution in accordance with established policies and procedures. Uses automated library system to process orders and invoices and track library materials expenditures; may perform related duties as assigned. This is a Full-Time position.
Associate's degree from an accredited college or university or an accredited technical school with a major in Business Administration, or a directly related field and two (2) years of experience in purchasing, automated library systems, or related field, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Business Administration or Public Administration is preferred.
