Working collaboratively with colleagues across the Libraries and the University in an on-call reference model, this position requires that the successful candidate be a strong presence in the campus community, building and maintaining close relationships with faculty and students in order to meet their teaching, learning, research, and publication needs.
The Instruction and Engagement Librarian will engage students in the learning process by providing face-to-face and online instruction sessions, workshops, online guides, and tutorials. The successful candidate will provide individual research assistance, including consultations to both students and faculty, participate in collection development, and serve as a liaison to campus groups and academic disciplines. This position will also serve as a 1/4-time library representative to the FAU Fort Lauderdale campus’ curricular programs, spending approximately 10 hours a week at the Broward County Public Library in Fort Lauderdale meeting with faculty and students or interacting with them remotely to gauge their needs and deliver services.
The successful candidate must be passionate about actively contributing to the academic success of FAU’s students and faculty through the advancement of library initiatives and services.
