The Dean, Library Services is the chief academic and executive officer of the Library and serves as a member of the University’s academic leadership team. The Dean is responsible for the Library’s leadership, strategy, and fundraising, and for managing the services, faculty and staff, fiscal resources, technology, and physical facilities of the Library. The Dean is accountable for the quality of services, collections, and facilities, and for building high quality and innovative instruction programs and library services that support the teaching, learning, and research of the University. The Dean promotes and provides advocacy for the Library within the university, throughout the state university system, and to regional, national, and international constituents and partners. The Dean guarantees the integrity of Library programs and services, promotes quality and excellence in teaching, research, and service, and fosters an environment of openness and collegiality.
Master’s degree from an American Library Association accredited program or foreign equivalent.
Eight years of library administration experience.
Experience with supervision, management, and organizational development.
In-depth knowledge in more than one area of library operations.
Advanced degree in a relevant discipline
