Description:

The City of Jacksonville, Florida, is seeking a Main Library Manager.  The Executive Assistant II – Main Library Manager reports to the Deputy Director of Public Services and directly supervises managerial staff overseeing customer experience departments at the Main Library.   


Education:

 

Open Requirements include:

 

  • A Master's Degree in Library Science from an American Library Association accredited program is required.
  • At least five years in proven, progressively responsible management/decision-making positions in library environments.
  • Must have knowledge and possess an understanding of the trends and best practices in public librarianship, customer service, and organizational dynamics.
  • A valid state Driver's License is required prior to application and must be maintained. 
  • Must qualify prior to application, obtain and maintain during employment a City of Jacksonville Public Driver Certification.

  • Ability to relate well and build appropriate rapport and relationships with a variety of people in all levels of the organization, as well as people outside the organization.

  • Skilled at reading situations quickly and focusing attention to gain understanding of conflict situations and prompt results.
  • Uses diplomacy and tact and can diffuse even high-tension situations comfortably.
