BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Responsible for the full range of circulation desk duties, shelf maintenance, and clerical functions using a collection management system. Performs data input and reconciles customer accounts for borrowed materials. Assists patrons with locating materials and books, computer registration, internet and other technology. Plans and presents programs. Maintains and troubleshoots library equipment to include computers, photocopier and audio-visual equipment. Compiles and maintains accurate records. Performs light housekeeping as needed. Provides excellent customer service. Performs related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduate or GED. Associate degree in Library Science or Education is preferred. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in public library service or bookstore is a plus. A comparable amount of directly related experience may be substituted at the City’s discretion. Working knowledge of computer and technology systems. Must be able to maintain effective working relationships with staff, volunteers and the public.
