Performs original and complex copy cataloging of library materials in various formats, using Online Computer Library Center (OCLC) Connexion and Sirsi/Dynix. Provides ongoing authority control and database maintenance; assists with special cataloging projects and in creating/revising local policies, procedures, and documentation. Provides bibliographic training of Library staff; aids in quality control of outsourced materials and communicates with vendors as necessary to resolve problems and establish policies and procedures.

Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Library Science accredited by the American Library Association (ALA); minimum of one (1) year of professional experience. Preference for experience working in a public library; reading Spanish; using OCLC Connexion/Sirsi/Dynix.. Also desirable: Knowledge of cataloging rules and principles/Machine-Readable Cataloging (MARC) formats/Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC)/non-MARC metadata schemes.
