Keiser University Lakeland has a job opening for an Assistant Librarian. We are located off the 1-4 corridor in the beautiful city of Lakeland, exit 31. The position is full time with potential hours throughout the day, evening and Saturday. Keiser University is a SACSCOC fully accredited, private not for profit university. Each of the many Keiser Universities in the state of Florida offer degrees in a variety of professional areas from an Associates to a PhD. The Lakeland Keiser is predominately a medical training university with degrees in nursing, radiology, nuclear medicine, physical therapy assistant, sports medicine, medical sonography, diet & nutrition, etc. KU Lakeland also offers non-medical degrees in graphic arts, IT, and business or independent studies along with other areas of career focus. The job requires the applicant to be full time and having a MLIS degree from an ALA approved institution, or a current student in a Master's degree of the same would be considered. No other type of degree or educational status or previous library experience is acceptable as a substitution for the MLIS or a current student of MLIS graduate studies. The ideal candidate will be trained for much of the daily tasks of the job. The daily tasks require a detail-oriented person, with the ability to make data entries into multi-departmental records, proctor testing, and they are comfortable with learning technological testing software and programs used in Admissions and coursework certifications. The ideal candidate will be trained for university testing needs, become certified with several testing providers as a testing proctor, and help students that test remotely for admissions, instructor make-up tests and course requirements with a grasp of ADA support. Along with the responsibilities of testing, the ideal candidate will work with students and faculty providing stellar library services. The selected candidate will continually participate in professional developments throughout their career with Keiser University Lakeland Library to facilitate their professional growth. The Lakeland Keiser Library is a small but highly effective academic library with an amazing team of MLIS librarians.
