The Mandel Public Library in downtown West Palm Beach, Florida is hiring! We have an exciting opportunity for a Library Acquisition Specialist to join our team! Are you detail-orientated and have a knowledge of current bookkeeping/accounting procedures and working with financial and statistical reports? Are you a self-starter, well-organized and comfortable with technology? Do you have experience in acquisition of library materials or equivalent and have excellent verbal and written communication skills? Do you have extensive knowledge of MS Excel? The Mandel Public Library is seeking an exceptional candidate to fill the position of acquisitions specialist.
Under limited supervision, purchases library materials with accurate and timely execution in accordance with established policies and procedures. Uses automated library system to process orders and invoices and track library materials expenditures; may perform related duties as assigned. This is a full-time position.
Education:
Associates degree with a major in Business Administration, or a directly related field (education will be verified using the “Education Requirements” listed below) and two (2) years of experience in purchasing, automated library systems, or related field, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Business Administration or Public Administration is highly desirable.
A current and valid Florida driver’s license is required. For application purposes, a valid driver’s license from any state (equivalent to a State of Florida Class E) may be utilized; with the ability to obtain the State of Florida driver’s license within thirty (30) days from date of employment.
