Plans and manages Information Technology (IT) resources and directs system-wide project implementation. Identifies and evaluates emerging technologies, recommends appropriate technology initiatives to Library Administration, determines priorities for implementation, develops specifications, secures necessary resources and administers successful implementation, operation and maintenance. Develops the Library’s technology plan and IT services to meet the system Long Range Plan goals and objectives. Serves as a member of the Library Management Team and addresses system-wide initiatives and concerns. Supervises the staff and operation of IT Division to ensure effective deployment of IT services throughout the Library. Develops policies for the proper use of technology resources. Coordinates work with Library Administration as well other County departments and vendors.

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field; minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in information systems project management, which includes two (2) years of experience supervising technical staff. PREFERENCE FOR: Master’s Degree in Library Science accredited by the American Library Association (ALA); professional work experience as a System Administrator or Project Manager for an Integrated Library Automation System (ILS) or Oracle Database Management System (DBMS); experience using ILS or DBMS query tools/reporting functions to provide customized information reports; experience drafting and managing a technology budget for hardware and software; public or academic library experience
