This position will be responsible for copy cataloging, original cataloging, loading vendor records into the Library’s catalog, performing quality control, maintaining import profiles in the Library’s ILS and the integrity of the integrated library system through authority file control. Additionally, this position will interpret and apply Library of Congress subject headings, the Dewey Decimal System, the AACR2, RDA, and the Online Computer Library Center (OCLC) manuals in cataloging and classifying library materials. The incumbent will be tasked with working alongside the Information Technology Department on mapping for various indexes and search features in the ILS, necessary to produce accurate results. This position will also be tasked with developing and recommending cataloging policies and procedures based on best practices and current standards as well as remaining abreast of and advising management/administration of current and emerging initiatives such as linked data, RDF, BibFrame, etc.
Master's degree in Library Science or a related program from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited graduate school. One year of professional experience as a librarian is required.
