Nights and weekend position supports and provides quality and seamless patron service experience by enforcing operations policies and procedures including observing optimum turnaround times for patron requests, streamlining work processes, and working cooperatively with Library Services personnel and Law Librarians. This position acts as the in-charge personnel during nights and weekends operations for circulation services, and back-up for Law Library operations for Library Services department.
-Provides circulation desk coverage. Opens, closes, and secures the Library. Interacts with students, faculty, staff, and other public in a professional and courteous manner.
-Assists patrons with basic information concerning library activities, facilities, rules and service.
-Checks library materials in and out of ILS system. Shelving material, filling pocket parts, loose leafs, and shifting materials.
-Processes Inter Library Loan requests.
-Monitors functioning of printing/duplicating/faxing equipment and performs basic troubleshooting. Reports issues.
-Assists Outreach Services Law Librarian in monitoring student assistants and temporary employees in the operation of library circulation equipment, procedures, and policies, and enforcing policies of the College of Law and Law Library.
-Reports issues and incidents that occur during nights and weekends shift to the Outreach Services Law Librarian.
-Resolves patron issues by use of learned customer service skills.
Ability to work nights and weekends. Hours will vary during reading and final exam periods each semester.
-Previous library experience.
-Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally, in writing, and in person.
-Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
Ability to provide direction to students and temporary employees.
Possess a high sense of responsibility and customer service skills.
-Intermediate knowledge/experience of Microsoft Office and WordPress.
Minimal qualifications: High School diploma or GED
