Processes orders for library materials in Alma, which includes bibliographic searching and placing orders with vendors, invoicing library materials as they arrive in unit, and coordinating claims process.

Processes firm order requests for library materials from faculty and librarian selectors, which includes order creation in Alma, bibliographic searching and placing orders with vendors. Duties may also include placing orders and invoicing titles with foreign vendors and publishers. Receives materials. 

Responsible for creating claims reports for items ordered but not received and processing claims with vendors.

Processes invoices for firm order and foreign approval library materials as they arrive in unit.  This includes processing firm order invoices and foreign approval invoices from international vendors that requires order creation. 


Runs reports, maintains files, assists with gifts, communicates with vendors and internal partners to resolve problems, and other duties as assigned. 






High school diploma or equivalent and two years of experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to two years.

Experience with Microsoft Office applications. 

Customer service experience.

Ability to perform accurately in a detail-oriented environment.

Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.

Ability to meet physical requirements of moving, packing, and unpacking boxes of books, and pushing carts of books.



Experience working in library technical services, or in procurement.

Knowledge of the policies and practices of library services.

Knowledge of collections development, acquisitions and cataloguing.

Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices.

Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations.
