The Southeast Florida Library Information Network (SEFLIN) is seeking an innovative library professional to lead our professional continuing education program. This position requires the intellectual curiosity to continually research trends in library service, attend professional conferences and educational opportunities, and apply knowledge from a wide variety of sources to build the calendar of continuing education opportunities provided by SEFLIN.
The successful candidate will engage with renowned presenters to enrich the staff of public, academic, school, and special libraries in the SEFLIN region and beyond. This person will also plan and implement SEFLIN’s annual regional conference, partner with other Florida Multitype Library Cooperatives to present conferences and/or educational opportunities, and coordinate with members of organizations such as the Professional Development Alliance on a national level.
The successful candidate will connect library staff regionally via SEFLIN committees and discussion groups, advocate for libraries by participating in FLA, ALA, and other professional organizations, and develop library staff to meet the opportunities and challenges of the library profession.

SEFLIN is one of five Multitype Library Cooperatives in the state of Florida, serving Monroe, Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm-Beach, and Martin Counties. We are funded by a combination of member dues, fees for services, Federal, and State grants with a budget of nearly $1.6 million for FY2021-2022. We seek to be an innovative change agent in service to our member libraries as we fulfil our mission to connect, advocate (for), and develop libraries and their staff.
The SEFLIN office is located on the campus of Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL. We practice a flexible working environment and offer excellent benefits. Position is NOT available as a remote work opportunity.

Job Summary
The Director of Staff Development and Member Services manages, implements, and evaluates SEFLIN’s innovative continuing education program, further develops regional partnerships through resource sharing initiatives, and actively engages SEFLIN members and peer organizations to achieve organizational goals. In achieving these outcomes, this position works with SEFLIN committees and discussion groups, SEFLIN staff, and library staff from all types of libraries.
Responsibilities
o Manages the grant application and reports relating to the Florida Library Jobs site
o Monitors and reports on the use of Florida Library Jobs
o Proposes upgrades and monitors improvements to the Florida Library Jobs Web site
Minimum Education and Experience
Master of Library and Information Science from an ALA accredited program. Minimum 2 years of experience in libraries.
