Description:

Broward County Board of County Commissioners is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Librarian, Senior Creation Station Business Section (CSB). Additional vacancies may be filled from this recruitment. This position may be assigned to any library location/section based on operational needs.
 
The purpose of this position is to plan, supervise and coordinate the activities of a business entrepreneurship section--Creation Station Business (CSB).  The primary responsibility of this position is operating the CSB, an innovative co-working space that nurtures local entrepreneurship. This includes supervising staff, project or program coordination, cultivating outreach efforts, and supporting division-wide initiatives. This position is also responsible for collection development, youth and adult reference services, programs and readers advisory. This position requires a candidate who has the ability to make connections with the startup business community.


Education:

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires a Master's degree from a college or university accredited by the American Library Association in Library Science, Library and Information Science, or closely related field.

Requires one (1) year of library experience providing services to all ages.

Preferences:

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule that may include days, evenings, nights, and weekends
  • Master's degree or higher in Business or related field that is separate but relevant from the Minimum Qualifications
  • ALA Leadership Certificate
  • Sunshine State Library Leadership Institute Certificate
  • Post Master's Certification in Librarianship
  • Post Master's Certificate in Leadership
  • Certificate in Library Leadership and Management
  • Two (2) years' experience working as a Business Librarian or working in a special Business Library
  • One (1) year experience with software CAD, Adobe Creative Cloud, QuickBooks
  • One (1) year Project Management experience
  • One (1) year Grants Writing Experience
  • One (1) year experience providing service, resources, and programs to entrepreneurs and small business
